Severe Thunderstorms Possible In Hudson Valley

The National Weather Service has issued severe thunderstorm watches for the region.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Severe weather could be headed to the Hudson Valley for the first day back from the long weekend.

The National Weather Service has issued severe thunderstorm watches Tuesday for the both the mid- and lower Hudson Valley.

For Columbia, Ulster and Dutchess counties, the watch is in effect until 8 p.m. Tuesday.

For Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties, the watch is in effect until 10 p.m. Tuesday.

The forecast calls for scattered showers and thunderstorms with some being severe.

There could also be damaging winds and heavy rain.
