Youth to Compete in Pitch 'Hit and Run' Event

The Yorkton Elks will host a free Scotts Major League Baseball 'Pitch Hit & Run' Competition for area youth on April 2.

From The Yorkton Elks: The Yorkton Elks will host a free Scotts® Major League Baseball® Pitch Hit & Run™ Competition for area youth.

The competition takes place April 2, 2017 on Route 202 fields between 9am and 1pm rain date April 8 , 2017.

  • 9am-10am ages 7/8
  • 10am-11am ages 9/10
  • 11am-12pm ages 11/12
  • 12pm-1pm ages 13/14

(If you are unable to attend your time slot you may compete at a different time.) It takes just a few minutes to complete all (3) skills.

Pitch Hit & Run™ is the official skills competition of Major League Baseball®. This grassroots program is designed to provide youngsters with an opportunity to compete, free of charge, in a competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball/softball skills.

Boys and girls are divided into four age divisions: 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14, and have the chance to advance through four levels of competition, including Team Championships at Major League ballparks and the National Finals during the 2017 MLB™ All-Star Week®.

The individual Pitching, Hitting and Running Champions, along with the All-Around Champion in each division age group at the Local Competition will be awarded and advance to the Sectional Level of Competition.

All participants must bring a copy of their birth certificate and have their parent or guardian fill out a registration/waiver form prior to the start of the competition. For questions concerning the competition, please contact your Local Coordinator, Sean Capshaw at [email protected].
