Now that we got that out of the way, spring seems to have fully sprung on Long Island, with temperatures expected to climb above 50 degrees from Friday-Sunday.

In fact, the mercury may hit 60 on some parts of the island on Good Friday. Rain and a possible thunderstorm, however, loom on Friday before things dry up for the rest of the weekend.

Here’s the full forecast:

  • Today- Sunny, with a high near 56. Breezy, with a south wind 13 to 22 mph.
  • Tonight- A chance of showers, mainly after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 47. Breezy, with a southwest wind 17 to 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
  • Friday- Showers, mainly after 9am. High near 60. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
  • Friday Night- Periods of rain and possibly a thunderstorm. Areas of fog. Low around 45. Light and variable wind becoming south 5 to 8 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
  • Saturday- Partly sunny, with a high near 52. Breezy, with a northwest wind 16 to 20 mph.
  • Saturday Night- Mostly clear, with a low around 34.
  • Sunday- Mostly sunny, with a high near 51.
  • Sunday Night- Mostly cloudy, with a low around 37.
