Boy Pulls 2 Swimmers To Safety In Point Lookout

All three people were brought to a hospital for evaluation and treatment.

POINT LOOKOUT, NY — Two people were pulled from the water near Point Lookout Town Beach on Wednesday evening, police said.

A 17-year-old and 19-year-old, both males, were in distress while swimming near the jetty at 8:20 p.m.

A 16-year-old boy went into the water and brought the victims to safety, police said.

The Point Lookout Fire Department and Nassau County Police Medics took all three males to an area hospital for evaluation and treatment.

Police urge people only to swim when lifeguards are on duty and during daylight hours.
