RYE, NY — A traffic stop in Rye led to bigger problems for the truck owners than the equipment violation that initially led to the stop.

At around 9 a.m. on Tuesday, the City of Rye Police Department pulled over a cement mixer for what was described as a "minor equipment violation."

The truck, however, was also found to be loaded with 10 yards of concrete without an overweight permit, authorities said. The vehicle was 18,500 pounds overweight, according to police.
