Obituary: Restaurateur John Ambrose Of Rye

RYE, NY — The restaurateur and Rye resident who co-owned the Pier Restaurant and Tiki Bar at Playland Park and the former Seaside Johnnie's in Rye Town park died Money at the age of 65.
John Ambrose died suddenly and unexpectedly, the Journal News reported.
The Facebook page of the Pier Restaurant and Tiki Bar said it would be closed through Thursday out of respect for Ambrose, but would reopen Friday for its final weekend of the season, "as John would have wanted.

"To John, may it forever be 'Tiki Time' in heaven," the post said.
Ambrose's walk will be held from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Coxe and Graziano in Mamaroneck. His funeral will be held at noon Saturday at St. Gregory in Harrison.
