Westchester Knicks Fire Head Coach in Inaugural Season

Kevin Whitted was hired as head coach in October.

The Westchester Knicks, the New York Knicks minor league team that plays home games in White Plains, have fired head coach Kevin Whitted after less than one season, officials announced Monday.

Part of the NBA’s Developmental League, the Westchester Knicks were 10-36 so far this season under Whitted, the team’s inaugural one. The team’s parent club also has had a rough season, posting a 14-60 record so far, and a few players from the Westchester team have been called up to the big club during the campaign.

Despite the team having four games left this season, Whitted’s dismissal is effective immediately.
