8 LI Football HS Teams Make MaxPreps List Of Best Teams In NY
The sports website recently released its 2021 rankings for the top high school football teams in the state.
LONG ISLAND, NY — Eight Long Island football teams made MaxPreps 2021 list for the top 25 high school teams in New York.
The website, which provides rankings, stat leaderboards, schedules, scores, news, and more of high school teams and players, recently released its list for the best school teams in the state.
Sayville High School's team was the first on Long Island to make the list, coming in at number 7 statewide. Oceanside and Shoreham-Wading River followed at numbers 8 and 9, respectively.

Iona Prep in New Rochelle came in number 1 in the state.
MaxPreps came up with the rankings based on the number of game results stored in their database. The more a team wins, the higher the ranking also taking into account quality wins against other highly ranked opponents, and strength of schedule.
