The National Weather Service has made its first official snow total predictions for Tuesday.

The National Weather Service has released its first official snow total estimates for a storm that will hit Long Island Tuesday.

Nassau County will likely see 2-3 inches while most of Suffolk County is in line for 1-2 inches.

Snow will be possible during the Tuesday morning commute, but the bulk of any snow is expected to fall from mid-morning through mid-afternoon. Sleet may mix with snow before the precipitation turns to all rain by around 3 p.m.

Sunday- Increasing clouds, with a high near 37. Wind chill values between 10 and 20. West wind 5 to 9 mph.

Sunday Night- A 40 percent chance of snow after 10pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 25. West wind around 6 mph becoming light and variable in the evening.

Monday- Mostly cloudy, with a high near 37. Wind chill values between 25 and 35. Calm wind becoming northeast 5 to 7 mph in the morning.

Monday Night- A 40 percent chance of snow after 9pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 25. Light northeast wind becoming east 6 to 11 mph in the evening.

Tuesday- Snow before noon, then snow and sleet between noon and 3pm, then rain after 3pm. High near 40. Breezy. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Tuesday Night- Rain, mainly before 3am. Low around 34. Chance of precipitation is 90%.

Wednesday- Partly sunny, with a high near 45.
