Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued For Long Island

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for the island. See the full forecast.

The National Weather Service has issued the following hazardous weather outlook for Long Island:

Heavy rainfall may be possible Thursday into Thursday evening as a cold front approaches, and as a tropical moisture plume streams in from the south between offshore high pressure and Michael, expected to be a tropical storm moving through the Southeast states at that time. Any thunderstorms that develop may also become capable of producing some isolated damaging wind gusts in the afternoon.

Now upgraded to a Category 3 hurricane, forecasters say Hurricane Michael will pummel the Florida Panhandle with hurricane-force winds, 12-foot waves and torrential rains on Wednesday.
