$1 Million Lottery Prize Split By Long Island Duo

BAYPORT, NY – A lucky Long Island duo claimed a $1,000,000 prize on the New York Lottery’s VIP Millions scratch-off game on May 6, according to lottery officials.

Murat Dindar of Bayport and Sergen Kup of Lindenhurst split the million-dollar prize down the middle with each receiving a one-time lump sum payment of $325,000, after required withholdings, the lottery reported.

The lucky winners purchased the ticket at Elda NY LTD (New York HUSCO Mini Mart) located at 700 South County Rd. in East Patchogue.

New York Lottery scratch-off games generated $4,406,338,198 in total sales during fiscal year 2022-2023. School districts in Suffolk County received $359,484,595 in Lottery Aid to Education funds during the same period, according to the lottery.
