Long Island Super Bowl Sunday Forecast

It will be a windy and wet Super Bowl Sunday on the island. Check out the full forecast.

Up to an inch of rain is expected to fall on Long Island Super Bowl Sunday. Yes, that does say rain and not snow. Earlier forecasts called for snow, but temperatures in the 40s will keep the white stuff away.

In fact, temperatures could briefly approach 50 degrees across the island Sunday evening with some rumbles of thunder possible, the National Weather Service says.

There's a chance of rain Sunday morning, but the bulk of the precipitation is expected from about 4 p.m. until midnight. The heaviest rain will likely be on the East End.

The next chance of snow in the forecast comes on Wednesday, but no accumulation is expected. Once again, we will likely be spared by temperatures warming up into the 40s and turning any snow into rain by mid-morning Wednesday.
