Lots of Rain, Chilly Temps Ahead For Sayville-Bayport

The sun is apparently going on a break for a few days.

A mild start to the week is set to turn chilly and wet, with sunny skies not expected to return until the weekend.

“For the longest time, people were waiting for signs of warmth. Now that it is here, those hoping the warmth stays will not like the outcome this week,” AccuWeather.com Chief Meteorologist Elliot Abrams said. “Chilly, gray and dreary conditions will be taking over.”

• This Afternoon- Scattered showers. Cloudy, with a high near 51. Northeast wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
• Tonight- Periods of rain, mainly before 5am. Low around 38. Northeast wind 11 to 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
• Wednesday- Rain likely, mainly after 11am. Cloudy, with a high near 42. Breezy, with an east wind 16 to 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
• Wednesday Night- Rain likely. Cloudy, with a low around 36. Wind chill values between 25 and 30. East wind around 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
• Thursday- A chance of rain or drizzle, mainly after noon. Cloudy, with a high near 41. Northeast wind around 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
• Thursday Night- Showers likely, mainly after midnight. Cloudy, with a low around 40. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
• Friday- Showers likely, mainly after noon. Cloudy, with a high near 56. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
• Friday Night- Showers likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 46. Breezy. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
• Saturday- A chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 56.
