WEST SAYVILLE, NY— A new activewear and lifestyle apparel store is coming to West Sayville. The owner of Eastbound Trading Co. wants to bring a new shopping option to the downtown Sayville area, catering to a community that he says appreciates shopping locally.

Max Procopio is a Sayville resident who saw how dedicated Sayville residents are to shopping at local small businesses.

"There are people here who will only buy local, whether it's what they decorate their house with, everything. But Sayville doesn't have a quality mens apparel store yet."

Eastbound Trading Co. is taking over the R&G Brenner space at 102 Main St.

Procopio told Patch that he is carefully selecting brands to include in the store that are quality, long-lasting and affordable. He plans to carry some local Long Island company wares like hand-carved wooden charcuterie boards from Long Beach's Jetty Woodwork. He will also stock outdoor brands like Wolverine and Coastline clothing from North Carolina and authentic Hawaiian shirts from Hawaii.

"Everything I'm going to carry, I stand by, and put my name and reputation behind it, and that means a lot to me."

The bulk of his merchandise will be men's and unisex outdoor and nautical products.

"People are really excited to be back out there" shopping in-person for the holidays, he noted, explaining that he's aiming to be open by the holidays.

"We are excited to be a new stop in Sayville for local shopping."
