Gambino told Patch that he and Constantino teamed up in the pizza business together after knowing each other for many years.

The business partners also own Crust Brick Pizza in St. James. When Sayville Pizza went up for sale in 2020, Gambino said it seemed like a perfect opportunity.

"We wanted to be part of a community where there are local shops and local buying," said Gambino. "A family place that's been around for a while, so we could service the community."

According to Newsday, Sayville Pizza celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2017. Gambino, who comes from a generational line of pizza makers dating more than 40 years, said that customers can expect new menus and new products — but most importantly, a friendly, neighborly establishment.

"We're just happy to do happy to be part of the community," said Gambino." And look forward to servicing it for many years."
