Stormy New Year's Eve For Long Island

You probably won't want to be outside when the ball drops.

It will be a stormy New Year's Eve on Long Island, the National Weather Service says.

Rain is likely to begin Monday afternoon and continue into the early morning hours of New Year's Day. Wind gusts could top 30 mph right around the time the ball drops in Times Square.

It's not all bad news, though. The temperature will be near 50 degrees as we ring in 2019.
