Town-by-Town Snow Totals; 'Significant' Sunday Night Storm Looms

Snow totals have been reported for many LI towns. And see the latest forecast for a snowstorm that could cause major problems Monday.

The snow has ended across Long Island, but not before dumping several inches of wet snow across the region. Snow totals were a bit higher than expected and there's more on the way.

Here are the unofficial snow totals for many towns on the island reported by the National Weather Service:

Another storm will impact Long Island Sunday afternoon into early Monday morning with a significant snowfall possible for much of the region, the NWS says. Precipitation will begin as light rain Sunday afternoon and then change over to snow late Sunday night.

A total of 3-6 inches of snow is likely to accumulate on the island. The highest amounts are expected in Nassau County and northwestern Suffolk County.

The full forecast:

Saturday Afternoon- Cloudy, with a high near 39. Wind chill values between 25 and 35. North wind 7 to 10 mph.

Saturday Night- Mostly cloudy, with a low around 30. West wind around 6 mph.

Sunday- A 40 percent chance of rain after 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 43. Wind chill values between 25 and 35. Northwest wind around 6 mph becoming light and variable.

Sunday Night- Rain before 1am, then snow. Low around 32. Wind chill values between 20 and 25. East wind 7 to 15 mph becoming north after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

Monday- Snow likely, mainly before 7am. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 41. Northwest wind 14 to 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Monday Night- Partly cloudy, with a low around 21.

Tuesday- Sunny, with a high near 32.

Tuesday Night- Mostly cloudy, with a low around 19.

Wednesday- Partly sunny, with a high near 28.
