Vehicle Fire Kills Blue Point Man In Driveway: Police

BLUE POINT, NY — A man was found dead in a Blue Point vehicle fire in a driveway on Sunday, Suffolk County Police told Patch.

Richard Deacon, 54, was in a 2016 Ram 150 pickup truck in the driveway of his Wilson Street home when the vehicle caught fire, police say.

Police said he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation but is believed to be non-criminal in nature, police said.

Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the incident.
