Woman Dies In Oakdale Crash: Police

The Wyandanch woman lost control of her vehicle and hit a tree, police say.

OAKDALE, NY — A Wyandanch woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Oakdale Saturday, police said.

According to Suffolk County police, the crash took place at 12:35 p.m. on Montauk Highway when Nyree Walker, 28, who was driving a 2016 Honda Civic eastbound, lost control of the vehicle and then struck a tree.

Walker was pronounced dead by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner, police said.
