SOUTHAMPTON, NY —Traffic was diverted on County Road 39 after a two-car crash Thursday afternoon, officials said.

Chris Brenner, public information officer for the Southampton Fire Department, said the crash took place around 3 p.m. in front of Goldberg's Bagels. The cars involved in the crash blocked westbound traffic, he said.

No injuries were reported, Brenner said.

While the crash was being investigated, cars were diverted into the turning lane so they could head westbound, Brenner said, adding that the crash sparked a traffic slowdown on County Road 39. Fire department crews worked to get the cars out of the roadway.

After the investigation, the road reopened about 3:30 p.m. Southampton Town police remained at the scene and the fire department returned to headquarters, Brenner said.
