2 Men Hurt After SUV Crashes Into Electrical Poles: Police

One injured man was found outside of the vehicle, police say.

RIVERSIDE, NY — Two men were injured after their vehicle crashed into electrical poles in Riverside early Saturday, police said.

According to Southampton Town Police, a 911 call came in at 5:22 a.m. regarding the single-vehicle crash on Speonk-Riverhead Road, during which a 2000 Mitsubishi Montero struck two electrical poles.

Police said they found one injured man inside the SUV and another outside the vehicle; both were transported to area hospitals, police said.

Southampton detectives are investigation the crash, police said.

The roadway remained closed Saturday morning until PSEG could arrive to repair the poles, police said.
