Bomb Threat Reported At Southampton Town Justice Court: Police

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A bomb threat was reported at the Southampton Town Justice Court Thursday morning, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, officers responded at about 7:52 a.m. to the justice court, regarding emails sent to the court about a bomb threat. A check of the court and surrounding area was conducted by Southampton Town Police patrol officers, Southampton Town fire marshals and court officers, and detectives, with nothing suspicious identified, police said.

New York State Troopers K-9 Unit responded to conduct an additional check of the property and the building, with no threat identified, police said.

A preliminary forensic investigation determined the email may have originated from outside the country and has no credible link to justice court at this time, police said.

Detectives will be continuing the investigation.
