Bridgehampton School Budget Passes Tuesday

BRIDGEHAMPTON, NY — The voters have spoken — and passed the Bridgehampton School District's proposed 2024 to 2025 school budget by a vote of 98 to 21.

The budget, the Board of Education said, "all existing programs while continuing to enhance educational opportunities for students. The budget includes a modest spending increase of
3.74 percent and a tax levy increase of 3.34 percent, which is within the district’s allowable
tax levy cap."

Four BOE candidates ran for four seats: Incumbent Jo Ann Comfort received 98 votes; Angela Chmielewski garnered 74; Nicole DeCastri Zabala , 65 — and Merritt Thomas received 63 votes.
