Man Charged With Felony DWI After Crash At Southampton Car Wash: PD

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A Riverhead man was charged with felony driving while intoxicated after a tw0-car crash in the Southampton Car Wash parking lot on Saturday afternoon, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, the crash happened at 1:37 p.m. at the County Road 39 business. No injuries were reported, but Jonnathan Pena-Tacuri, 29, of Riverhead was found to be intoxicated, police said.

Pena- Tacuri was arrested at the scene and then transported to Southampton Town police headquarters for processing; he was charged with felony DWI and several traffic infractions, police said. He was additionally charged with false personation, a misdemeanor, after misrepresenting his actual name and date of birth to investigating officers, police said.

Pena-Tacuri was held overnight for morning arraignment at Southampton Town Justice Court, police said.
