Police ID Motorcyclist Killed In Suffolk Crash

EAST QUOGUE, NY — Police have identified a motorcyclist who died in an East Quogue crash Monday afternoon as Devin Edward Wesch, 19, of Selden, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, the crash took place at 3:55 p.m. on Montauk Highway, near the cross street of Shinnecock Avenue in East Quogue.

Wesch, who was riding alone, was heading west on Montauk Highway when he lost control, left the roadway, and crashed into a pole, police said.

Wesch was deceased upon arrival, police said.

The crash investigation led to a road closure between Jones Road and Shinnecock Avenue in East Quogue, beginning at about 3:55 p.m., police said. As of 6 p.m. Monday, Southampton Town police detectives were at the scene investigating.
