Peconic Prime Meats Selling Epic "Shepherd's Pie and Cottage Pie"

Owner Bob Corton has revived the recipe for Cottage (beef) Pie and Shepherd's (lamb) Pie of deceased NYC legendary bartender Howard O'Brien.

Years ago I totally enjoyed the Shepherd Pie's Howard O'Brien the bartender at Sofie's in the East Village would prepare for me and Bobby Corton, then the owner of Sophies on 5th Street in the East Village. The Harvard and Yale schooled Howard O'Brien was also one of the world experts on ancient Gaelic writings and did lots of research in Ireland. He bartended to support his true passion of writing and researching this old time subject. While over in Ireland Howard learned some old time pub secrets to making the best Shepherd's and Cottage Pies. Eventually he passed them on to Bobby Corton, who was his boss. Bobby has lived in Southampton for the last 27 years and now owns and runs the successful Peconic Prime Meats Butcher Shop, 235 N. Sea Road in Southampton Village on the south side of Route 27.

Bobby called me in to sample his version of Howard's Shepherd (lamb) Pie because he knew how much I enjoyed them. So I took one home heated my oven to 350 degrees and put the timer on for 35 minutes and boom it was ready. The fresh cut carrots, the pea's, the butcher shop quality lamb along with the mash potato top, plus a few of Howard and Bobby's secrets overwhelmed me with both a nostalgic and most satisfying meal. I ate the whole thing, a serving for two!

If you love great steaks, sausage and ribs and haven't made it Peconic Prime Meats get over there and find out why it is the Hampton's premier butcher shop, with lots of recent press praising it's chief butcher Steve Colabella. He has been written up by all the local papers. Mr. Colabella is a third generation Butcher who always wanted to be a butcher! It was and is his calling. He is an artist, he is a philosopher of meats, and he is a great reference on how to prepare all the meats he cuts and sells.

The Cottage and Shepherd's Pies sell from $6.99 to $18.99 depending on size and serving. I want everyone to give one a try. Perhaps pickup a Guinness Stout or two or four to sip while you savor your hot Shepherd's Pie and have the same sort of great experience I had.
