Planned Parenthood Mobile Unit To Stop In Bridgehampton

BRIDGEHAMPTON, NY — Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic’s new Mobile Health Center is officially on the road.

According to Planned Parenthood, the Mobile Health Center will bring "high-quality sexual and reproductive health care services directly to those who need them."

With plans to travel and provide services across Suffolk County, the Mobile Health Center’s first appearances are in partnership with local Hamptons-based community organizations.

On Monday, the mobile unit will stop on Monday, May 6 at the Bridgehampton Child Care and Recreational Center, located at 551 Sag Harbor Turnpike in Bridgehampton, from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The event is partnered with OLA of Eastern Long Island. Any patient who needs services is welcome, no appointments are needed.

"For over 90 years, PPHP has provided high-quality, compassionate sexual and reproductive health care services in five Suffolk County brick-and-mortar locations. Through the Mobile Health Center, PPHP will bring vital health care to more patients, especially community members for whom travel is a barrier to accessing care," Planned Parenthood said.

The Mobile Health Center has two exam rooms and will offer a wide range of sexual and reproductive health care services, including birth control, emergency contraception, STI testing and treatment, gender-affirming care, annual wellness exams, PrEP and PEP for HIV prevention, HIV testing and initial treatment, medication abortion, and more.

No appointments are needed to receive services. PPHP will also have a Mobile Health Center dedicated to its northern regions.

"Our goal is to ensure everyone who needs our services can receive them, regardless of their ability to pay or travel. Our Mobile Health Center program is an important step in expanding our services to achieve that mission."

PPHP has partnered with several local community organizations to bring health care services directly to their members.

On Thursday, April 25, the Mobile Health Center opened its doors for the first time to the members of Hamptons Community Outreach.

The Mobile Health Center will also work with OLA of Eastern Long Island, which serves immigrant and US-born Latinos working and/or living across the East End. Out-of-pocket costs for patients referred by either organization will be covered by a donation from the Donovan family.
