Rescued Seal to be Released Into Wild

The seal was rescued in Sagaponack back in March.

The Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation announced that on Friday they will be releasing a seal that was rescued in the area.

The seal, Hawkeye, will be released near Ponquogue Bridge in Hampton Bays at 7 p.m.

Hawkeye, a male gray seal, was rescued from Sagaponack on March 23 after he was found underweight and with a swollen flipper.
