SCWA Water Main Extension in North Haven Is Largest South Fork Project in 13 Years

The Suffolk County Water Authority has completed water main installation on a 17,737-foot extension in North Haven, the largest water main extension on the South Fork since another project in North Haven that was completed in 2001.

The project covers most of northwest North Haven, including North Haven Way, Redcoats Lane, Blue Heron Way, Salt Meadow Lane, Fairleigh Court, Gardiners Path, Ezekillis Hollow, Widow Coopers Path, Seaponack Drive, Gleason Court and On the Bluff. SCWA already serves most of the rest of the village’s residents.

“We’re happy to welcome our new customers on the East End who will now have a water supply that is guaranteed to be safe and available even during power outages,” said SCWA Chief Executive Officer Jeffrey W. Szabo.

The Suffolk County Water Authority is an independent public-benefit corporation operating under the authority of the Public Authorities Law of the State of New York. Serving approximately 1.2 million Suffolk County residents, the Authority operates without taxing power on a not-for-profit basis.
