SAG HARBOR, NY — "Seinfeld" fans will have the chance to see their beloved Jason Alexander donning another creative hat, as he directs "Windfall," which kicks off the Mainstage summer season at the Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor this weekend.

The show, described as a "dark comedy" by Scooter Pietsch, premiered on May 31, opens on June 4, and runs through June 19. The offering is Alexander's first project at the venue.

“It is exquisite joy to have live theater back in our lives and I am thrilled to help bring this wild dark comedy to life for the Bay Street audiences," Alexander said. "'Windfall' has much to say about dreams, greed, corruption and all that is funny and frightening about the human condition. It's a thrill ride and we can't wait to share it.”

According to a release, the comedy centers on "five office workers in Columbus, Ohio who toil under the heavy hand of a maniacal boss and dream of a better life. When the boss’s antics become too much to bear, they bet their every last cent on a life-changing lottery jackpot. But the prospect of winning brings out the worst in these best friends. A dark, hilarious comedy that delves into how far any of us would go in our desire to have it all and live the American Dream."

Bay Street Theater’s Artistic Director Scott Schwartz reflected on the show: “I was drawn to this story about money and the evils of greed and look forward to Jason’s spin. He has been a friend of the theater for a long time and it’s exciting to be kicking off the 2022 season with him."

Though best known for his award-winning, nine-year stint as the now iconic George Costanza of television’s "Seinfeld", Alexander has "achieved international recognition for a career noted for its extraordinary diversity," the release said.
