Southampton High School Golf Team Wins County Play-In Tournament
Three students qualified for the tournament which took place last Thursday.
The Southampton High School Golf Team participated the league-wide County Play-In Tournament last Thursday, Oct. 30, according to the Southampton Schools Facebook page.
The Mariners’ top six players participated in the tournament at Rock Hill Country Club in Manorville. Only the top 20 scorers qualified for the County Tournament in the spring and the Mariners had three qualifiers: Christian Oakley, Tom Fullam, and Matt Morgani.
Oakley, who lead the league in average for the season, went out and won the league tournament with a score of 6 over par, 77. This is Christian’s second year in a row capturing this honor, according to the Facebook page.
