Tuckahoe Students Learn and Explore during Outdoor Education

Tuckahoe's Sixth Graders Embark on an Exciting Three-Day Journey of Learning, Team Building, and Discovery

Southampton, NY, Tuckahoe Common School District is thrilled to announce the success of its sixth-grade three day outdoor education trip. The students, directed by veteran educators, found the activities challenging and rewarding.

During the trip, the students enjoyed kayaking on the beautiful waters around Shelter Island, challenged themselves with rock climbing, and worked together in team-building exercises. They also explored a salt marsh guided by the scientists of the Mashomak Preserve and experienced a shark dissection led by Cornell Cooperative Extension to learn more about the local environment.

The adventure ended with a chartered fishing boat excursion, where the students - many never having taken a boat ride, had the chance to experience the joys of fishing and create lasting memories with their classmates.
