United For The Troops Thinks Of Christmas In August

PUTNAM COUNTY, NY — You may not even be thinking about them yet, but Collections for Operation Defend The Holidays are now underway.

United for the Troops packages are filled with items the soldiers deployed overseas miss, plus heart-felt messages from volunteers all over the region who are dubbed UFT’s Hometown Troops.

"We are in need of all things that make United For The Troops care packages gifts that say, “we care," the organizers said.

There are several ways to help. UFT can even arrange a scheduled pick-up for large item donations.
