North Hills Home Broken Into, Safe Stolen; Family Unaware: Police

It happened just after 8 p.m. on Wednesday.

NORTH HILLS, NY — Police are investigating a burglary in North Hills on Wednesday night.

While a Links Drive South homeowner was out to dinner his nanny called to say the home's back door was broken.

The nanny was home with the victim's two children. No one at home heard the door get smashed.

When he returned, the homeowner realized a safe was stolen, authorities said.
