2 Popular Holiday Markets Set To Open On The UWS: What To Know

The Columbus Circle Holiday Market and the Grand Holiday Bazaar will both open soon on the Upper West Side.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Thanksgiving is around the corner, and the holiday season is almost fully upon us. As the year's biggest gift-giving period kicks into gear, two popular Upper West Side holiday markets are opening soon to give residents an option to shop local.

The internationally known Columbus Circle Holiday Market will open on Nov. 29, while the neighborhood's beloved Grand Holiday Bazaar will open one day earlier on Nov. 28.

Grand Holiday Bazaar: 100 West 77th Street (Schoolyard on the corner of Columbus)

The Grand Bazaar Market has been open for months on the Upper West Side, but it is transitioning into the Grand Holiday Bazaar on Nov. 28. The holiday version of the UWS market will remain open until Dec. 19.

It will open on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

"Come shop from 100+ hand-picked independent local artisans and dealers," reads a message on Grand Bazaar's website. "Find one-of-a-kind handmade holiday decoration and giftable items: candles, skincare, fashion, handbags, vintage accessories and collectibles, handmade jewelry and furniture, rare antique silver- and glassware, and of course delicious artisanal treats and foods."

Columbus Circle Holiday Market: Central Park entrance at West 59th Street

The Columbus Circle Holiday Market will open on Nov. 29 and will remain open until Christmas Eve. Unlike the Grand Baazar, the market located at West 59th Street will be open seven days a week.

You can check out the market Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

"It is internationally known as one of the most elegant and beautiful places for holiday shopping," reads a message on the Columbus Circle Holiday Market's website. "Located at the entrance to Central Park, at 59th street and Central Park West, visitors lose themselves in glittering aisles of art, jewelry, home goods and delicious eats from local artisans and designers."

The Columbus Circle market will have more than 100 vendors.
