UPPER WEST SIDE, NY - Brighter days — er, teeth — are ahead for Upper West Side-dwellers.

BeamBar, a full-service teeth whitening studio, has expanded from its Bleecker Street headquarters into the Upper West Side with a location at the former NYC Barber Shop Museum (290 Columbus Ave.) between 73rd and 74th streets.

The boutique teeth whitening service is the brainchild of Fabienne van Buchem and Adi Jain, two Columbia Business School graduates who began their quest to reinvent teeth whitening during an entrepreneurship class in 2019.

With the help of Rashi Gupta, a dentist with over 10 years of experience, the trio launched BeamBar Greenwich Village in June 2022, fueled by the concept of affordable one-hour, walk-in teeth whitening under $130.

In place of lab coat-clad technicians, you’ll find apron-wearing employees at BeamBar offering a selection of lip scrubs and vitamin-infused toothpastes before whitening sessions. During the service, clients can catch up on Netflix shows.

The trio declares that, after whitening the smiles of over 4,000 New Yorkers at their flagship shop, a “version 2.0 store” at 290 Columbus Ave. was required.

"We’ve made a number of design improvements, and we’re still experimenting with the size and format of the space,” Jain said. "We want every BeamBar location to offer the same exceptional experience, but we’re going to keep improving the look and feel.”
