UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — The Upper West Side is about to get crunchy.

The Granola Bar, a decade-old cafe, restaurant and grab-and-go joint, is finally opening their doors at 551 Amsterdam Ave., at West 87th Street.

If that sounds like a mouthful — the eatery self-describes itself as a "day-to-night café and restaurant," offering "an elevated vision of comfort food and drinks" during the morning and at night — including their signature homemade granola and, of course, granola bars.

But for co-owners Dana Noorily and Julie Mountain, the opening of their first New York City location is actually a bit of a homecoming for them, since they both used to live in Manhattan.

“We are thrilled to bring The Granola Bar to New York City!” said Noorily. "As we enter our next phase of growth and expansion, Julie and I are back in the city that we both called home many years ago."

In addition new location will offer coffee, espresso, smoothies and teas, plus favorites like Nutella Lattes, Avocado Toast, Parmesan-Crusted Avocado Grilled Cheese and Yogurt Parfaits made with their signature homemade granola as part of their daytime menu.

At night, the menu switches over, with some new location-exclusive items like tuna tartar mini-tacos, a double-smash patty and a truffle and wild mushroom pappardelle.

Founded in 2013 in Westport, Connecticut, the Granola Bar has several locations in Connecticut and Westchester.

This location will be the first Granola Bar in New York City.

“The Granola Bar started with the goal of bringing the foods we love to our surrounding families and friends,” said co-founder Julie Mountain. “This desire still lives on in every space we open today, and we are beyond excited to expand our community to the Upper West Side.”
