‘Gas-tly’ Headache: West 94th Braces For Major Construction

August is a great time to get out of the city - especially for residents of one UWS block.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY – Heads up, West 94th Street: Con Edison is gearing up for work on a gas main between Amsterdam and Columbus Avenues.

Construction begins on Saturday, August 3rd, and working hours will be Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sundays, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Expect noise, street closures, and limited street parking. Sidewalks will remain clear when possible.

The project is scheduled to conclude on September 1st, although a spokesperson for Con Ed told Patch that the utility hopes to finish up “sooner than that.”
