UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — An acclaimed pre-order bagel spot has expanded its footprint in New York City with a brand new location on the Upper West Side.

Pop Up Bagels, the hit bagel shop, recently debuted its second location on the corner of West 76th Street and Columbus Avenue, with a grand opening last Sunday.

Don't expect the ordinary bagel routine here. Pop Up Bagels breaks the mold of traditional bagel shops by serving whole bagels, urging customers to tear and dip rather than the typical slicing and spreading.

They sell whole, made-to-order bagels with a rotating variety of schmear flavors - including pesto butter, scallion cream cheese, chocolate chip cannoli cream cheese and many more.

PopUp Bagels, which actually started in proprietor Adam Goldberg's Connecticut home as a pandemic hobby, debuted in New York City with a Greenwich Village location in April 2023, Patch previously reported.

Just like previous locations, the new shop on Columbus Avenue will sell bagels to walk-in customers in packs of three, Goldberg said.

Customers may also pre-order to get their hands on a bag of bagels — the minimum order is one dozen, with two spreads or schmears. You can add additional bagels, fish, or schmears, but there are no sandwiches on the menu.

The bagel shop starts serving customers at 7 a.m. and stays open until they run out of bagels, officials said.

According to their social media update, on their opening day last Sunday, they closed shop at 2:30 p.m.

In addition to its two Manhattan locations, Pop Up Bagels has established a presence with five shops in Connecticut, one in Massachusetts and another on Long Island.
