UPPER WEST SIDE, NY - Upper West Side-dwellers will no longer have to tread below 70th Street to get a taste of the locally-sourced ingredients offered at Friend of a Farmer.

The restaurant's second location opened Wednesday at 68 West 71st Street, serving up farm-to-table brunch and dinner fare. The eatery is the second location helmed by the Morabitos, with the founding owners' children Taylor, Weston and Rose operating the new site. The original location opened in 1986 at 77 Irving Place near Union Square.

“It’s been an incredible experience bringing our family's vision to life in a new space, putting our personal touch on each and every aspect of the restaurant,” Taylor Morabito said. “We are excited to honor our parent’s original concept and are grateful for the opportunity to introduce our comfort fare to a new crowd in New York City.”

The new 2,000-square-foot Upper West Side location sits at the former site of Pasha, a Turkish restaurant that closed in fall 2021. The 65-seat dining room featuring a 10-seat bar is filled with antique furniture collected by the Morabito family.

Friend of a Farmer's menu features wild caught fish and locally grown produce and meats from New Jersey's Fossil Farms. All liquor is sourced locally from distilleries in New York; four locally brewed beers are also available.
