The organizers also announced the race will be a little bit shorter than usual due to the extreme weather conditions. The temperature is supposed to hover around 93 degrees for a high, with temperatures soaring into the 80s in the morning as the race kicks off.

The running portion of the race was shortened to eight kilometers from 10 kilometers, with runners crossing at 102nd Street instead of 110th Street in Central Park.
