UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A 17-year-old boy was hospitalized following a shooting at an Upper West Side building late Tuesday night, authorities said.

The teen was found with a gunshot wound to the lower back about 11:20 p.m. near West 63rd Street and Amsterdam Avenue within the NYCHA Amsterdam Houses complex, police said.

Medics rushed the victim to Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition, police said. The teen is expected to recover.

A suspect description was not available Thursday morning. The investigation remains ongoing, an NYPD spokesperson said.
