Upper West Side Block Brings Back Its Famed Halloween Decorations

In honor of Halloween, check out photos of the Upper West Side's spookiest block. It's not for the faint of heart!

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — There are few more well-known blocks in New York City for their level of Halloween decoration than West 69th Street between Columbus and Central Park West.

For years, the West 69th Street Block Association has transformed the buildings on the Upper West Side street into a Halloween spectacular.

Among the nearly 100 New York City streets that will be closed to cars between 4 and 8 p.m. so that Halloween revelers can maraud through New York's Open Streets, there will be a handful on the Upper West Side — including West 69th Street.
