UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A mainstay of the Upper West Side boutique scene is set to close its doors after two decades at its Amsterdam Avenue location.

CPW owner Linda Wolff announced on her Instagram page on Wednesday that her shop, which had been on the corner of West 84th Street and Amsterdam Avenue since 2002, would be closing on Jan. 31 for good.

"After a thousand inspiring conversations; after watching you improvise and reinvent, evolve and bloom; after turning shoppers into friends and friends into family," Wolff wrote, "the time has finally come for me to have a new adventure!"

Rent increases at the store had become to great for Wolff to sustain her shop, she told the West Side Rag.

“I cannot make it work anymore,” Wolff told the local news site in an interview. "The landscape of retail has changed.”

Customers expressed their anguish at the loss of another beloved Upper West Side shop.

"Oh, no, you’re the last great shop on the Upper West Side!" exclaimed one Instagram user.

"An end of an era," said another. "You and that little gem of a store will surely be missed."

But Wolff, who has spent nearly 40 years working in fashion, is not getting out of the game entirely.

As soon as the shop's doors close, another one will open on Feb. 1, when Wolff will become a full-time stylist/personal shopper, with CPW becoming Creative Personal Wardrobes.

"I'll be more than happy to purge your closets, fill in your wardrobe blanks, put together outfits, shop either with you or for you, and make you feel confident in your clothes and flawless in your style," Wolff wrote.

"The woman who have come through my front door have never failed to delight, challenge, encourage, energize, and enlighten me," she wrote. "And I want you to know that I am forever grateful to every single one of you."
