UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Get ready, Upper West Siders. The fan-favorite supermarket, Wegmans, is coming to the neighborhood.

According to new signage, the Rochester, NY-based grocer will be taking over the lease at the former Bed Bath & Beyond space at 1932 Broadway, between West 64th and 65th streets, the West Side Rag first reported.

The new location will be the grocery chain’s third New York City location, adding to locations in Brooklyn Navy Yard and Astor Place.

Earlier this year, news broke that the grocery chain reportedly signed a "long-term lease" for the shuttered storefront, but at the time, a Wegmans rep told the New York Post that the space had been leased by Danny Wegman as a personal investment with no immediate plans to open a store.

“At this time, we are continuing to learn from our Astor Place store and will use those learnings moving forward,” Wegmans told The Post.

Wegmans was not immediately available to provide information regarding the change of plans.

The new store is expected to occupy roughly 58,874 square feet on the lower levels of Glenwood Management’s luxury apartment building, the Grand Tier, adding to the array of tenant perks offered by the company.

The space was formerly home to Bed Bath & Beyond until it closed in late 2023, Patch previously reported.

No information on a potential opening date has been revealed.
