UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Trumpet the bloodhound had quite the week. It started with him becoming the first of his breed to win the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, and it ended with him getting a steak lunch at one of the fanciest restaurants in New York City.

Trumpet beat out 3,500 canine contestants at the world-famous competition. In the final grouping, he conquered the best of the Sporting, Working, Terrier, Toy, Non-Sporting and Herding groups.

In the days after his victory, Trumpet was invited to Tavern on the Green — the world-famous restaurant on the west side of Central Park — to have a steak.
