Where To Go Sledding On Upper West Side After The Snowfall

Before the snow melts on the UWS, here's a list from the Parks Department showing the best places to go sledding in the neighborhood.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — There's good news for Upper West Side families looking to get outside and enjoy the more than 5 inches of snow that were dumped on Manhattan this morning.

The Parks Department has a list of the best places to go sledding across the five boroughs — and the Manhattan list includes two parks on the Upper West Side.

The two locations are Central Park and Riverside Park, both of which feature big, sloping hills perfect for sledding down.

For Central Park, the department recommends one sledding spot at the Pilgrim Hill near 72nd Street and Fifth Avenue, just south of the Conservatory Water.

In Riverside Park, the city recommends the hill at Riverside Park and West 103rd Street.

Another popular spot in Riverside Park is the giant hill overlooking Hippo Playground at Riverside Drive and West 103rd Street.

A winter weather advisory remains in effect until noon Friday.
