"El Viaje de la Esperanza" es una obra conmovedora que explora la solidaridad, el amor, la imaginación y los sueños. A través de sus personajes, nos invita a descubrir ese mundo interno que, aunque invisible, se revela con fe y esperanza.

La historia se desarrolla en un burdel de un barrio empobrecido, donde la dueña, una anciana ciega, comparte con las jóvenes trabajadoras una carta inesperada. En ella, Don Giácomo, el amor de su juventud, la invita a viajar a Venecia para reencontrarse después de años sin contacto. Este viaje ha sido la ilusión de toda su vida.
A pesar de las limitaciones económicas y el desconocimiento de cómo llegar a Europa, las chicas deciden ayudar a la anciana a cumplir su sueño. Sin poder realizar el viaje en la realidad, recurren a la imaginación para crear un mundo donde lo imposible se vuelve posible. Así, la anciana vive su anhelado reencuentro con su amado en una Venecia que, aunque imaginaria, está llena de verdad y amor.

Haverstraw Riverwide Arts and the Village of Haverstraw celebrate diverse culinary options with the 10th Annual Haverstraw Crawl Eats and Beats. 20+ restaurants. $5-$10 per plate. (RAIN OR SHINE)&nbsp;No tickets are required. Free live outdoor music by The Amish Outlaws (3:30pm-5pm), and Brianna Knight in the Craft Beer Garden On Broadway @Main. Joshy the Magician, Lali the Clown, face painters, and balloon twister for the kids. The Crawl begins in front of the Webster Bank lot, 38 New Main St. Food Crawl maps will be handed out to guide attendees throughout the downtown area. Stop at the NY CRAFT BEVERAGE GARDEN on Broadway and Main during your restaurant visit. This outdoor garden will feature local craft beer by Sing Sing Kill Brewery, Stony Point Brewing Co., Stone Yard Brewing, Rockland Cider Works. For the first time, we will showcase liquor from Black Button Whiskey, Hudson House Vodka, and Rock Valley Distillery Gin. 21 and up to enter. ID required. The NY Waterway Ferry will run 12-6pm during the Crawl between Haverstraw and Ossining. A free shuttle will pick visitors up from the Haverstraw landing and drop them off across from Village Hall, 40 New Main St., though the event is walkable along West Street to Downtown (6 blocks north - 12 minutes). Drop-off and pick-up during the Crawl is located at 40 New Main St. Village Hall, Haverstraw. Though the Crawl is from 1-5pm, the last ferry from Haverstraw to Ossining will leave at 8:20pm. The last shuttle from Village Hall to the ferry is 6pm. We expect large crowds so please plan accordingly. Parking: Across from Village Hall, 40 New Main St., and 56 Broad St. in the Knights of Columbus lot. New Main, Main, West St and Broadway @ Main st will be closed to vehicular traffic. Parking is also available on side streets.

Paul Moses, author of An Unlikely Union: The Love-Hate Story of New York’s Irish and Italians,” and The Italian Squad: The True Story of the Immigrant Cops Who Fought the Rise of the Mafia, speaks on what the New York story—and the personal experiences of St. Frances Cabrini and famed detective Joseph Petrosino—can tell us about trying to break the historical cycle of prejudice that confronts immigrants, even in this City of Immigrants. Free. 
Paul Moses is a professor emeritus of journalism at Brooklyn College and a former reporter and editor at New York Newsday, where he was the lead writer in a team that won a Pulitzer Prize. His book The Saint and the Sultan: The Crusades, Islam and Francis of Assisi’s Mission of Peace won the Catholic Press Association award for best history book. He is a contributing writer at Commonweal magazine.
