WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN — A man was caught on camera stealing a bird from a Williamsburg pet store this week.

The man walked into the store and grabbed a paper towel before heading over to the "exotic bird cages," police said. Apparently having successfully snatched the bird, he walks away.

"There have been some recent mutations of these birds in blue and cinnamon (a lighter greenish-yellow) though they are difficult to find and are very expensive," the bird experts' website says. "The blue mutation is particularly stunning, and is beginning to lower in price as breeders today are concentrating on them, though you may still have to search a little harder for them."
