Volunteer Opportunities Of The Week: Patient Outreach Assistants

Mentors for Youth
Connections Mentoring is looking for Volunteer Youth Mentors to mentor a young person based in Westchester County. Mentors should be genuine, reliable, and want to make a positive difference in a young person's life. Connections Mentoring fully prepares its volunteers with the skills and support necessary to be great mentors. Volunteers with bilingual (Spanish/English) skills are encouraged to express interest, but it's not required; mentors must be 23+.

STEM-Tastic Volunteers
STEM-Tastic engages families in all sorts of activities, challenges, and workshops from leading STEM providers in the tri-state area. Volunteers are needed to help with a variety of activities, including event setup and breakdown, registration and check-in, Drone Cadets, Bio Bus, Take Apart Zone, food and more. This opportunity is perfect for volunteers ages 15+ (or 11+ if registering as part of an adult's team); volunteers may receive raffle tickets.
Date: May 10 from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Board Members
Board members are needed with special skills in fundraising, donor relations, and partnerships with companies that can provide support. Board members with experience working in (or working on projects relating to) Haiti are especially welcome. Prospective board members must be 21+ and should prepare a cover letter and resume.

Patient Outreach Assistants
Volunteers are needed to work in Open Door Family Medical Center's sites throughout Westchester County to help register patients and teach them the portal. Hours are flexible and all training will be provided. Bilingual/Spanish language skills are beneficial; all volunteers will be required to pass a medical and background check and serve a minimum of 50 hours per year. This is a great opportunity for volunteers 17+ who are interested in gaining experience in the healthcare industry.

Website Manager
CAREERS Support Solutions helps individuals with disabilities find and maintain long-term employment; provides pre-employment training, resume creation, job searches, and interview support; and offers extensive on-the-job training and long-term support. All of these services are offered at no cost to clients, their families, or employers. The organization is seeking a volunteer Website Manager to assist with minor updates, such as posting new employee or board member information, as well as work on larger projects like building out new landing pages. This position is remote and will require an average of 5-10 hours a month. The volunteer should have experience with WordPress or other basic website management, an eye for design, and a desire to make a difference.
